Jean-Luc Moulène is mostly a photograph. Since the 1990's, he's committed to deconstruct the social and economic parameters which frame any production of images, through everyday life scenes or typical images (landscapes, still life, portraits). His investigation also takes the form of drawings, objects and various constructions. For his exhibition at Nîmes, Jean-Luc Moulène chose a singular approach of the artwork as he makes the remark himself: "every "photographic object" is a product", exhibitions are too. The one at Carré d'Art de Nîmes gathered aroung eighty artworks from different periods, some of them reproduced in this catalog and accompagnied by contributions of Jean-Pierre Criqui and Yve-Alain Bois as well as an interview between the artist and Briony Fer.
