Book published on the occasion of the exhibition Allora & Calzadilla, first solo exhibtion in Spain of the Puerto Rico based artistico duo, co-curated by Carles Guerra and Sara Nadal-Melsió, which was held at the Fundació Antoni Tàpies, Barcelona, from February 6 to May 20, 2018.

"Given the artist's political commitment to Puerto Rico and their ongoing exploration of the pitfalls of its wounded sovereignty, they have chosen to produce a critical analysis of Puerto Rico's exception. A Modest Proposal is conceived as a public platform to adress the critical status of this Caribbean community and outline a progressive agenda to rethink its futures. By taking its cue from Jonathan Swift's inventive and creative indictment of the abuses colonialism, the book appeals to the creativity of the political imagination to tackle a myriad of urgent questions, ranging from colonial legacy of inequality to fuel poverty, climate change, debt, and austerity measures, to name just a very few."
