Conceived in continuity to the exhibition inaugurated on June 13, 2025, the catalog Wolfgang Tillmans. Nothing could have prepared us – Everything could have prepared us brings together a collection of texts and photographs, including 68 pages dedicated to views of the monumental installation displayed on the plateau of the Bibliothèque publique d'information. The content reflects the artist's universe, his interest in the architecture of the Centre Pompidou, and his fascination with paper in all its forms, whether aesthetic or informative.
Both an archive document and a work in itself, the book is composed of five chapters, each reflecting a major perspective in Wolfgang Tillmans’ view of the world. It brings together texts by several authors, combining established figures and voices from a new generation of photography historians, along with a previously unpublished conversation between Renzo Piano and Tillmans. These writings are accompanied by a selection of images that offer an immersive journey through his photographic archive, as well as on-site views of the exhibition, forming both a documentary record and an extended reflection of it.
