Aranya Plein Air Art Project invites Haegue Yang to present the sculpture Migratory DMZ Birds on Asymmetric Lens along three trails, in dialogue with the natural landscape and cultural heritage at Aranya Jin Shan Ling.

Haegue Yang has conceived a series of outdoor sculptures, which carries the different type of a bird, inhabiting in the border between two Koreas. From the artist’s perspective, the natural world is ignorant of human driven narratives and structures, as these migrant birds are unrestrained by human imposed boundaries and fly freely across mountains, cities, and borders.
