On the occasion of the release of the book Mesmerizing Mesh – Paper Leap and Resonating Habitat, published by Is—Land Édition, a conversation between the artist Haegue Yang and the anthropologist Nicolas Bureau will take place in our second space at 5 rue de Saintonge.
Published following the artist's exhibition at the gallery last winter, the publication traces a conversation between Yang and Bureau on shamanism, travel, and the status of artists and anthropologists in society. The book presents the artist's interest in the sacred dimension of hanji, a traditional Korean paper, which inspired the Mesmerizing Mesh series.
In addition, the original edition of Mesmerizing Kite – Acrobat in Butterfly-Bat Grip (2022) will be presented. The proceeds from fifty of these handmade kites will contribute towards an installation by Yang in the new Institut Curie building in Saint-Cloud (near Paris, France).
As seats are limited please RSVP at rsvp@crousel.com.
