The Lahore Biennale Foundation presents Of Mountains and Seas, the third edition of the Biennale, curated by John Tain.
Spring Sailors – Six Synecologies Aloft by Haegue Yang responds to both experiences in the city by installing six sets of paper sculptures inspired by Lahori kite designs in the Aiwan or grand hall at the Shalimar Gardens. The work draws attention to the celebration of geometry, but also to vernacular and local adaptations to the environment, including garden designs and water features that provide forms of passive cooling.
Haegue Yang also presents Gleaners Notebook, a notebook specially produced for The Lahore Biennale Foundation, which takes as its point of departure the small-scale workshops that produce the bulk of exercise books for the city’s many students.
A conversation between Haegue Yang and John Tain, curator of the biennale, will take place at the Lahore Museum Auditorium on November 2, 2024 at 7pm. Register here.
