For her exhibition at Kunsthaus Biel, Mimosa Echard presents an ensemble of works inspired by historical spaces of capitalist exchange (Parisian arcades, New York’s Times Square) as well as the conceptual space of the prehistoric cave. This new body of work furthers her examinations into the representation and systematisation of bodily desire, as hallucination, memory and flash.
Drawing on material as diverse as electromagnetic shielding fabric, 'girl group' publicity campaigns and fragments of her personal biography, Mimosa Echard creates multimedia works shaped by contradictory processes of absorption, accumulation and circulation.
