Post-noir is Glenn Ligon’s first exhibition in a French institution. On this occasion, a new monumental diptych from the Stranger series will be presented, as well as a selection of America neons, paintings from the Coloring series, and large-format oils on canvas and serigraphs from the Debris Field series. Early on, the artist incorporated text in his work, using stenciled words that became the signature of his oeuvre. Through the use of painted language, he highlights both social and political value systems that give these texts meaning.
