Monograph dedicated to the site-specific installation designed by Danh Vo at CAPC, through which the conceptual artist explores the relations between individual and collective history and notions of power and masculinity.

Since 2017, the CAPC, Bordeaux's contemporary art museum developps a new series of books particularly dediacted to the nave's site-specific installations which have been building, for 40 years through ambitious projects, the museum's notoriety. This series wants to pay homage and highlight a strong visual memory of these large scale achievements.

This last opus, assigned to This Side Up studio, is dedicated to the monumental installation of the artist Danh Vo at CAPC, articulated in four moments and summoning imposing blocks of marble. This exhibition is mostly a reflection which puts in resonance the links between the works, the architecture and the building's memory, l'Entrepôt Lainé, which was at first a colonial commodity warehouse.

Designed under Danh Vo's supervision, this book gathers exceptional visuals as well as an enlighting interview of the artist about this unique project's genesis.
