According to Jean-Luc Moulène, Fénautrigues represents a return to the roots. Located above Saint-Céré, this tiny municipality of the french area of the Lot shelters the locality named "Le Moulin". Family birthplace of the artist, this place was although his childhood playground. Now a major actor of the artistic french scene, Jean-Luc Moulène utilized a public commission by the french Ministry of Culture and Communication to come back and look into Fénautrigues thoroughly. Between 1991 and 2006, he roams camera in hand this 5 square km territory. Gardens, stream, field labour, woods and sunken path were the subject of 7000 takes. The 500 images retrieved from this process constitute a singular artwork on memory, space and look.
