Conceived entirely by the artist for his exhibition at MAXXI, the volume illustrates Thomas Hirschhorn’s research on Pixel-Collage, a series of artworks produced between 2015 and 2017. In addition to the curators’ essays and by international critics, the catalogue includes an anthology of Thomas Hirschhorn’s writings and an original essay written exclusively for MAXXI. Of particular interest is the section "Showcase for Thoughts", dedicated to the inspiration and research materials used by the artist to create his works: paintings by other artists, advertising and reportage images, books and short texts.
