Abraham Cruzvillegas in Espejos de México, installation view, Fundación Proa, Buenos Aires, Argentina (2024). Photo: Jorge Miño.
Abraham Cruzvillegas participates in the group exhibition Espejos de México, with Mexican artists Julieta Aranda, Damián Ortega and Rafael Lozano-Hemmer.
Abraham Cruzvillegas presents a selection of performative works which deconstruct everyday objects and practices, a process the artist calls "autoconstrucción".
He features an installation composed of materials used by the local steel industry. This work is accompanied by drawings and paintings created in situ using a map and a broom, in the form of a performative ritual. The result is a polysemic work, reflecting the artist's meticulous methodology and profound conceptual approach.
