Gravity Ease Contract is the first exhibition curated by David Douard in Germany, following those held at the Fondation Pernod Ricard in Paris (2024) and Le Consortium in Dijon (2023).

The exhibition brings together artists who tell intimate stories that draw on their own experiences and focus on the outside world, as if seen through the cracks in their very own private rooms. From this perspective, the artists capture echoes of the outside world, such as music, videos, and fragments of popular culture, which seep through the walls and invade their daily lives.

On this occasion, Jean-Luc Moulène’s sculptures Écorché, Le Buisson (2023) will be presented, standing as blind, mute guardians on either side of the space.

Understood as a transgenerational dialogue between pioneering and a younger generation of artists the exhibition comprises works by Nils Alix-Tabeling, Emmanuel Beguinot, Ellen Cantor,  Dennis Cooper, Stephan Dillemuth, Rochelle Goldberg, Estelle Hanania, Richard Hawkins, Agata Ingarden, Mélanie Matranga, Rafael Moreno, Jean-Luc Moulène, Rolf Nowotny, Caroline Poggi & Jonathan Vinel, Susan Philipsz, Julia Scher, Erwan Sene, Akeem Smith and Naoki Sutter-Shudo amongst others within a scenography by Celeste Burlina.

The exhibition is presented by House Berlin at Halle am Berghain, on the occasion of Gallery Weekend Berlin.
