This book charts the development of four new works at the centre of Jean-Luc Moulène’s first Australian exhibition, at Mona. They are made from: Triassic sandstone cut from Australian eastern seaboard; creamy wax from the fires of industry and progress; alloyed zinc smelted by the River Derwent and Bell Bay; and rainforest timber, harvested from the depths of Lake Pieman in far western Tasmania.

Through drawings, 3D renders and photographic documentation, this catalogue spotlights the collaborators—the ‘teams’—that are intrinsic to Jean-Luc’s artistic practice: curators, fabricators, digital designers, production departments, technicians and this museum.

Featuring essays from guest curator Michel Blancsubé, Mona research curator Jane Clark, Mihnea Mircan and Mark Bechtel.
