As a major artist of the Israeli art scene, Moshe Ninio explores in his installations the nature of the image, this in and through the various apparatuses of art. With discretion, his poor images, latent, seized from the most trivial banality, define themselves in relationship to other works. The meaning of the image in the work of Ninio is complex and it is probably the iconic status of the image that prevails.
His work has been shown in international solo exhibitions in museums anf gallery such as NBA Gallery, Berlin (2018); Musée d’art et d’Histoire du Judaïsme, Paris (2016); Santa Monica Museum of Art, Santa Monica (2015); Tel Aviv Museum of Art, Tel Aviv, Moshe Ninio as guest curator (2002); S.M.A.K., Gent (1998); FRAC Languedoc-Roussillon, Montpellier (1996); The Israel Museum, Jerusalem (1990), among others.
