Long Sorrow
2005
12 minutes 57 secondes
super 16mm film transferred to hard disk
colour and sound

The film «Long Sorrow» shows the New-York jazz saxophonist Jemeel Moondoc, suspended from the facade of a building in a suburb of Berlin, named «Lange Jammer» by its inhabitants. The 1,8 kilometers long building is a sign of utopic and progressive hope of the nineteenseventies. The musician is performing a long improvisation inspired by the surrounding sounds. « Long Sorrow » is transcending limitations and bases it  the interplay between inner and outer, familiar and unknown.  It stimulates the extension of our imagination.
(It has been exhibited for the first time at the Hamburger Bahnhof for the « Preis der Nationalgalerie für Junge Kunst » and at the « Nicola Trussardi Foundation » in Milan, last autumn).

Window Drawing
2006

The window, once again, is the main image of this  video premiered at the occasion of this exhibition. It shows the projection of the window’s shadow on the wall of a room. The light source comes from outside. Through the shadow ‘s projection, we perceive the outside and the falling snow. The storm brutally interrupts the football game. It « stops » also the window.

Passage à côté de l’heure

A same subject is shown from different points of view. Along this series, the image -at first abstract- becomes a sign of time and its passing.
