Mimosa Echard is part of the group exhibition Cellule de performance at the MABA with the video work The People (2016).
Taking as its title a notion borrowed from the world of sports, Cellule de performance highlights co-existing entities united by a common objective: attention to the other, to the world and its different ecosystems, in contrast to the current stakes of performance and results.
The People takes place in the village where Mimosa Echard grew up, in the South of France. The artist used a large personal archive of mini-DV footage shot between 2004 and 2008, overlaying the tapes on top of each other in a two-hour image stream.
