Pinacoteca de São Paulo hosts the first major exhibition of South Korean artist Haegue Yang in South America, for the inauguration of its new building, the Pinacoteca Contemporânea.
Curated by Jochen Volz, the exhibition at Galeria Praça brings together important pieces, mostly new, such as the five geometric sculptures made of venetian blinds, Yang's signature material since 2006. She presents work in strong dialogue with the history of Brazilian art. The new blind sculptures are all entitled Stacked Corners (2022) and refer to the work Espaços Virtuais: Cantos [Virtual Spaces: Corners] by Brazilian artist Cildo Meireles (1948).
