Hassan Khan presents Composition for a Public Park for Art Encounters Biennial 2025 in Timisoara. At the heart of each movement is a spoken libretto, written by the artist and presented in two languages; Romanian and English.
This work is a large-scale, musical artwork, featuring multi-channel music and spoken text that unfolds in three simultaneous movements and is designed to be experienced spatially. Especially composed for public parks with the local language, it transforms the act of listening into an embodied experience, inviting the public to literally move through the music spread through the park.
Composition for a Public Park was awarded Silver Lion in Venice in 2017.
