Thomas Hirschhorn discusses his current exhibition at the South London Gallery, and past projects with art writer and critic Adrian Searle.
For his first major solo show in London in many years, Hirschhorn presents a new work entitled In-Between at the SLG. Based on and highlighting the quote; “Destruction is difficult. It is as difficult as creation.” by Italian Marxist theorist and politician, Antonio Gramsci, the new artwork made for the SLG’s main space continues the artist’s exploration in recent works, of the aesthetic of ruins.
The exhibition will be open from 11am-7pm on Sat 12 Sep. The exhibition ends on Sun 13 Sep, opening hours 11am-6pm with free tours 1pm daily.
The exhibition is generously supported by Stephen Friedman Gallery, Beth Rudin DeWoody and the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia. The talk is presented in collaboration with Camberwell College of Arts.
