Dédié à la vie is the French translation of a work by Seth Price, first released in 2020 by the Isabella Bortolozzi gallery. Initially conceived as a young adult novel, it gradually evolved during the writing process into a hybrid collection. The book invites readers into some of the author's most personal reflections, set against the backdrop of a world in flux. Comprising texts written between 2001 and 2019, it offers a window into the thoughts that shaped the author during those years, occasionally echoing works he had created—or was yet to create.
A blend of journal entries, poems, and inner dialogues unfolds in a kind of psychedelic dance, while clearly confronting the hidden violence embedded in certain cultural mechanisms, often disguised as part of the “everyday.”
Though laced with a touch of sarcastic humor, Dédié à la vie is far from cynical. Instead, it stands as a tribute to resilience and to embracing the world in all its most elusive and undefinable aspects.
