Galerie Chantal Crousel is pleased to participate in Art-o-rama’s Immaterial Salon, accessible online from August 28 to September 13, 2020 with the sound works by Hassan Khan and David Douard in collaboration with Romain Hamard.
Hassan Khan presents a narrative sound piece PURITY (2013), including actors and musical interludes, that gently touches on the latent percepts underpinning social and personal relations in our stratified world.
David Douard is presenting a soundtrack recorded by Romain Hamard as part of the sound installation conceived for his last exhibition at the gallery O’DA’OLDBORIN’GOLD (2019). Hamard produced a soundtrack with acoustic tricks, deliberately recording barely perceptible sounds, almost inaudible, silences, echoes of empty spaces and courtyards. Picking up on Douard’s interest for domesticity and intimacy in his practice, Hamard added sounds collected from Instagram stories and Youtube music tutorials left to play in the background.
