Fabrice Gygi, Sans titre [autoportrait], 2015. Collection du Fonds d’art contemporain de la Ville de Genève (FMAC).
Galerie Chantal Crousel wishes to congratulate Fabrice Gygi, the award winner of the Société des Arts de Genève’s Visual Art Prize – 7th Edition 2021 (Switzerland).
This distinction is a recognition of Fabrice Gygi’s career, offering him the support, the admiration, the financial means to pursue his life’s work, along with a solo exhibition in September, 2021 at the Crosnier space (Geneva) and a publication.
Fabrice Gygi is one of Switzerland’s major artist of his generation. Marked by nomadism, his career as an artist has made him carry out a constantly renewed formal research. For more than thirty years, he explored the ambivalence of artefacts he made – at the crossroad of practicality and art. This orchestrated ambiguity enabled him to free himself from a normative society obeying logics of power.
