Haegue Yang, Migratory DMZ Birds on Asymmetric Lens, exhibition view, The Clark Art Institute, Williamstown, Massachusetts, USA (2020). Courtesy of the artist, kurimanzutto, Mexico City/New York and The Clark Art Institute. Photo: Thomas Clark.
Haegue Yang is participating in The Clark Art Institute’s first outdoor exhibition, Ground/work. In Haegue Yang’s three-part installation Migratory DMZ Birds on Asymmetric Lens, bird species native to the Korean Demilitarized Zone travel to the unfamiliar setting of New England. Dispersed in the landscape, these three sculptures, in the artist’s words, “scatter the narrative”, encouraging visitors to discover each example in a different environmental context.
