Performance

Born in 1975, Hassan Khan lives and works in Cairo. His work has been developed in the field of art, using mostly video, but has also been developed in the fields of writing and music. Initiated in the early 90's, his musical research brings closely together composing and performing.

Alone with his mixing table, the artist manipulates and transforms in an amazing way various kinds of sonorous material, previously produced by him from multiple hybridizations. Using a plastic sense of contrast, the artist takes his inspiration from a wide range of genres and styles, from popular urban musics - such as the New Wave Shaabi -  to the minimal language used in contemporary music so-called "art music". In the way of great elements or living organisms, Hassan Khan's concerts, using both a critical and paroxysmal load, involve the heterogeneous energy of the acoustic landscapes characteristic of the globalized world.
