Wade Guyton will be in conversation with Tristan Garcia to present Wade Guyton, a new monograph about the artist published on the occasion of his exhibitions at Le Consortium, Dijon, and at MAMCO, Geneva, in 2016 and 2017. Nicolas Trembley will introduce the discussion.
The book, published by Les presses du réel, presents over thirty new works produced specifically for these large-scale curatorial projects, with an in-depth essay by Tristan Garcia in the form of an investigation. Born 1972 in Hammond, Indiana, Wade Guyton lives and works in New York City. He is one of the most influential representatives of a generation of artists who reflect on and produce images in a digital era. Although some of his works question the structure and language of painting, in the traditional sense of the word, they still radically modify codes and modes of production.
This event is free and open to all, within the limits of available seats. Please confirm your attendance before October 25 by e-mail at rsvp@crousel.com.
