Encounters — Booth EN1

As part of the Encounters section, Haegue Yang synthesises together three works in an expansive installation titled Contingent Spheres. Presented in collaboration with Galerie Chantal Crousel (Paris), Kukje Gallery (Seoul, Busan) and kurimanzutto (Mexico City, New York).

The Randing Intermediates – Underbelly Alienage Duo is a pair of rattan sculptures exploring handles as an interface of performativity. The installation The Intermediate – Five-Legged Frosty Fecund Imoogi presents suspended woven tentacles. Both these works are presented on flooring referential to the Binakol, a Filipino textile. Lastly, Sonic Cosmic Rope – Gold Dodecagon Straight Weave evokes the Korean folktale of Sister Sun and Brother Moon’s heavenly escape.
